Cambodia
Cambodia is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. Having gone through civil war and conflicts, Cambodia has just started to be stabilized. However, Cambodia still does not have a proper social structure and this results in a situation that large population is living in poverty.
Due to poverty in the country, parents often sell their children into slavery..
Currently, Kamonohashi project has three projects in Cambodia to help Cambodian people and to reduce the number of child sex trafficking.
1 Community Factory Project

Kamonohashi project established a factory in a rural area of Siem Reap province in 2008 to provide adults an opportunity to work, with the aim of reducing the number of families which sell their children into slavery.
Currently, about 90 women are working at the factory, producing handicrafts made by rush.
2 Supporting an Orphanage

By supporting one of the orphanages in Cambodia, we are helping protect children who are likely to become victims or have already been victims of sex trafficking.
Kamonohashi Project makes a partnership with this orphanage and supports them financially.
3 Police Training Program

Cambodia being a poor country with a large population living in poverty, police used to take bribes from sex industries and this made the situation harder to protect children. Kamonohashi project supports Cambodian government financially with providing police training program that focuses on exposing offenders and also creating a strict law over the child sex trafficking.
